Adam and Austin have had this long running debate going on for years. Does transponder placement matter? Adam says no. Austin says yes.
Austin - "Unless the car crosses the start finish line at the end of the lap at the same exact speed and rate of acceleration that it did at the beginning of the lap, the elapsed time between the front crossing the rear crossing is different. Maybe minutely different, but still different. This elapsed time will show up in different lap time readings".
Adam - "Blah Blah Blah - just go wheel it."
